THE SHIELD #5 and ACTION COMICS #885 hit stores 1/13/10

This coming Wednesday (13 January, 2010), I have two comics hitting store shelves. Marco Rudy returns to penciling duties on The Shield (and thanks are due again to Cliff Richards for his fine work on issue #4). I recently completed scripting chores on The Shield #7, and am eagerly awaiting Marco's magic pencils on that one. Lots of good stuff on the horizon for Lt. Higgins, for sure.

In addition, Action Comics #885 leaps tall buildings in a single bound... Actually, it's the first part of a crossover with James Robinson's Superman, full of Mon-El, the Science Police, and, as the comic title implies, a lot of action and things blowing up.

Both titles available at your Friendly Local Comic Shop. If you can't locate a comic shop in your area, try the Comic Shop Locator Service; I also recommend, if you're in western Washington State, my wife's fine establishment, Olympic Cards & Comics.

And in the co-feature, Captain Atom is back on Earth, but his struggle to break his ties with Mirabai and Project 7734 aren't over yet. Guest-starring Metropolis's own super-powered protector, Mon-El! And check out the connecting cover art on these two issues!

The Shield continues his search through the Brazilian jungles for the Nazi tech he encountered with the Great Ten. But another hero is on the hunt – the Jaguar!

Plus, Inferno is about to confront the mysterious man behind the attacks on Frank Verrano, but he'll have to go through the Comet!
