Forever Yours...

A bit late to the party here, but it's been a busy few weeks.

Recently, Image Comics released Lazarus issue #1. It's a terrific book, a dystopian tale about a post-apocalypse (a financial apocalypse, rather than zombies or killer robots) society run by large corporate families. The story focuses on one Forever Carlyle, the "Lazarus" of the Family Carlyle.

The book is created by my good friend Greg Rucka and his Gotham Central colleage, artist Michael Lark. In the interests of full disclosure, I'm part of the team working on the book (in a very small way); I've been helping the creators with layout/book design chores for the "backmatter" in the comics.

Lazarus #1 sold very well, has received terrific reviews, and is well worth your time.

“FAMILY,” Part One

In a dystopian near-future, government is a quaint concept, resources are coveted, and possession is 100% of the law. A handful of Families rule, jealously guarding what they have and exploiting the Waste who struggle to survive in their domains. Forever Carlyle defends her family’s holdings through deception and force as their protector, their Lazarus. Shot dead defending the family home, Forever’s day goes downhill from there…

In addition, the guys put together a four-page "overture" to the comic—an original short piece that sets the stage. Here it is. Enjoy!
